 Search "renters insurance" and nearly everything you'll find is a ranked list of companies — which insurer scored highest, which one offers the best app, which one a particular reviewer would personally choose. What's considerably harder to find is a straight answer to a more basic question: what does this actually pay out for, in real situations, with real numbers attached?
